## Supported Formats

**Input:**
- **Audio:** MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, WebM audio
- **Video:** MP4, QuickTime (MOV), WebM video

**Transcript output:**
- `srt`, `txt`, `vtt`, `json` (v1, segments only), `words` (v2, segments + per-word timestamps — schema at https://api.weftly.ai/.well-known/weftly-transcript-v2.schema.json)
- The `words` format is ideal for clipping, multicamera edits, and edit-video-from-transcript.

**Clip discovery output:** JSON matching https://api.weftly.ai/.well-known/weftly-clips-v1.schema.json (ranked candidates with timestamps, scores, and per-clip transcript text).

## Payment Rails

1. **Stripe SPT** — Card payments via hosted Stripe Checkout (good for browser users and MCP hosts without a wallet).
2. **Tempo USDC (MPP)** — Crypto rails for fully autonomous flows. Sign challenges with [mppx](https://github.com/wevm/mppx).

Both rails use the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP). Discovery at `/.well-known/mpp.json`.

## Source-reuse contract

After `find_clips` completes, the source video stays in storage for **72 hours**. `transcribe` and `summarize` parents stay for **24 hours**. Pass the parent `job_id` to `clips_from_job` (or `edit_from_transcript`) as `source_job_id` and it works from the cached source — no re-upload, no re-transcribe. `clips_from_job` is $0.50 per output file.

## Quick Start — MCP path (recommended)

Connect to `https://api.weftly.ai/mcp` (Streamable HTTP, protocol version 2025-03-26). Tools: `transcribe`, `summarize`, `find_clips`, `clips_from_job`, `clips_from_video`, `edit_from_transcript`, `complete_upload`, `get_job_status`, `mpp_smoke_test`.

Upload-based tools (`transcribe`, `summarize`, `find_clips`):

1. Call the tool with `filename` (and optional `query` for `find_clips`) — server returns `{ job_id, payment_challenge }` and a Stripe Checkout URL fallback.
2. Sign the challenge with [mppx](https://github.com/wevm/mppx) (or open the Checkout URL in a browser), then retry the tool with `job_id` + `payment_credential` — server returns `{ upload_url }` (presigned PUT, 1h expiry).
3. `PUT` the file bytes to `upload_url`.
4. Call `complete_upload(job_id)` to verify the upload and start processing.
5. Poll `get_job_status(job_id)` until `status: "completed"`. The result includes presigned download URLs for every output role.

Upload-based, card only: `clips_from_video` (`filename`, `content_type`, optional `query`, `orientation` = `vertical` default or `horizontal`). Finds clips and cuts up to 5 under one payment. Resume with the same `job_id`. Wallet-only agents: use `find_clips` then `clips_from_job`.

No-upload tools (`clips_from_job`, `edit_from_transcript`):

1. Call the tool with `source_job_id` (the parent `find_clips` / `summarize` / video `transcribe` job). `clips_from_job` also takes `orientation`, `output`, and `clips` (array of `{ start, end, title? }` in source seconds). Vertical caps by `profile`: 240s `tiktok-primary` / `tiktok-primary-720p`, 180s `instagram-reels`, 60s `instagram-stories`; horizontal reels cap at 30 minutes total. `edit_from_transcript` takes `edited_transcript` (max 256 KB) and optional `title`; get the editable text first with `get_job_status(job_id, format: "edit")` (free). Server returns `{ job_id, payment_challenge }`.
2. Sign and retry with `job_id` + `payment_credential` — processing starts immediately. No upload step.
3. Poll `get_job_status(job_id)` for the output files.

## Quick Start — REST/HTTP path

Use this if you're not on an MCP host (e.g., browser apps, scripts, custom integrations).

Upload-based jobs (`transcribe`, `summarize`, `find_clips`):

1. `POST /api/v1/sessions` — create anonymous session, get `session_token`.
2. `POST /api/v1/jobs` with `{ "job_type": "find_clips", "filename": "interview.mp4", "content_type": "video/mp4" }` — returns `job_id`, `checkout_url`, and MPP deposit info.
3. Pay via Stripe (use `checkout_url`) or Tempo USDC via MPP.
4. `GET /api/v1/jobs/{job_id}/upload-url` — returns presigned `upload_url` (requires payment).
5. `PUT` the file to `upload_url`.
6. `POST /api/v1/jobs/{job_id}/complete-upload` — triggers processing.
7. `GET /api/v1/jobs/{job_id}` — poll until `status: "completed"`, then download outputs.

No-upload jobs (`extract_clip`, `extract_vertical_clip`, `edit_from_transcript` job types): `POST /api/v1/jobs` with `source_job_id` + `segments` (or `start`/`end`; for `edit_from_transcript`, `edited_transcript` and optional `title`), pay, then `POST /api/v1/jobs/{job_id}/process` with `Authorization: Payment <credential>` to verify payment and start processing. Vertical clips are capped per profile: 240s `tiktok-primary` / `tiktok-primary-720p`, 180s `instagram-reels`, 60s `instagram-stories`.
